Magadheera Remake In Bollywood



The search for that elusive director 'who can direct an epic while giving it a modern touch' might well have ended. Word is that Abhishek Kapoor, who directed the youthful Rock On, might be the director of choice for the much-anticipated Hindi remake of Telugu hit Magadheera. A source close to the film told Mirror, 'The producers are in talks with director Abhishek Kapoor right now.'

The 2009 film Magadheera, directed by S S Rajamouli and produced by Allu Aravind, starred Ram Charan Tej and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles. It was set against the backdrop of the Mughal empire while attempting to impart a history-meets-modernity twist to the tale. Significantly, the film went on to become the highest grossing Telugu film after its theatrical run.

Possibly, Abhishek, who already has a Rock On to his credit, is considered the ideal candidate to direct the Hindi remake by the film's producers.
